What about Genetically Modified Organisms. Ooooh, that does sound scary, doesn't it?Turns out they pretty much mean the same thing when it comes to food. And apparently that's a good thing.
DarkPalmer, a blogger I read from time to time posted a link to this video, "What's For Lunch?". In it, the interviewer challenges this notion that "Organic" means healthier. And also challenges the assertions that scientifically modified foods are bad for us.
One intereting quote:
"For us, Organic, Biotech, and Conventional are all management systems," says Jennie Schmidt, Farmer and Registered Dietician, Schmidt Farms. "And you use them in terms of balance and how it fits into your operation. And I'm comfortable with knowing that farmers are good stewards of what they're doing, and that therefore the food that is raised conventionally or through biotech is safe."
